What are the benefits of tinted glass in a car?
1. Aesthetics
Aesthetics is one of the main reasons that leads drivers to choose to tint glasses since it makes the car more attractive and exclusive.
2. Security
In countries where there is many car robberies, it is usual to use tinted glass to reverse the situation. The goal is to discourage the robbers: first because they can’t see what’s inside the car; second, because the dark film, depending on its thickness, makes the glasses more resistant to breakage, making it difficult for the burglars to work.
3. Privacy
It is common to see tinted windows in vehicles of public figures and the reason is obvious: a car equipped with these glasses offers greater privacy to all who are on board.
4. Resistance
The tinted glasses consist of films that are applied to the glasses and, depending on their thickness, offer greater resistance to breakage and, in the event accident, greater protection.
In the last case, the films prevent the glass from break, making it into a safety element. The pieces resulting from the breaking of the glasses will not be projected onto the passengers, minimizing the injuries of all who are on board.
In addition to all this, they prevent night-time enchantment and help reduce visual fatigue.
5. Fuel savings
The tinted windows, by protecting the car’s interior from the sun’s rays, make the temperature lower than those recorded in a car equipped with conventional glasses. In this way, the driver will use air conditioning less frequently, which translates into savings in fuel consumption.
6. Blocking of the sun’s rays
The tinted windows can protect both the driver and passengers from the different temperatures on board.
A car equipped with tinted windows contributes to a lower probability of wear of the components, such as upholstery, steering wheel and seat belts.
Apart from everything that was said earlier, darkening car windows can block up to 99% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays, which can accelerate skin aging and cause skin cancer.
