If you’re thinking about opening your own heavy Truck Repair Shop, in addition to having an organised workspace, it’s important that you have the tools and equipment necessary to provide a good service.
Find out what they are and how they can help improve the service you provide in your garage.
What services does a Truck Repair Shop provide?
The services provided by a heavy vehicle garage differ, depending on the aims of each garage owner. However, the most common services offered by lorry repair shops include:
- Repairs;
- Preventive maintenance;
- Car body repairs and painting.
What can you find in the KROFTools catalogue for your heavy Truck Repair Shop?
Along with ratchet wrenches, electric tools and impact wrenches, you’ll also need to ensure you have a range of other specific tools to carry out effective maintenance or repairs on heavy vehicles.
You’ll find essential tools for lorry repair shops to perform a quality service in the KROFtools catalogue, such as:
1. Vehicle lifts for lorry garages
Similarly to the needs of garages specialising in light vehicles, heavy vehicle repair shops also require help from lifts to ensure the service they provide is more precise and less complex. In addition, these tools help ensure occupational safety.
Given the importance of this tool, the KROFTtools catalogue provides two models of vehicle lifts specific to lorry workshops:
Column to wireless multi-column lift 8Ton
This 3KW electric-hydraulic lift can lift up to 8 tonnes to a maximum of 1810mm in less than 80 seconds.

2. Vehicle positioning jacks
Having the correct tyre pressure is crucial for any vehicle, including heavy vehicles. Sometimes tyres will also need replacing, especially after travelling several kilometres.
To make it easier to change and transport tyres in a lorry garage, vehicle positioning jacks are excellent aids. As such, equipping your heavy vehicle garage with this type of tool is crucial to improving productivity.
At KROFtools, we’d like to draw attention to the following tools:
250kg Wheel Handler
Able to carry tyres weighing up to 250kg with wheel sizes of between 250 and 800mm, this vehicle positioning jack has a handle measuring 1000mm, thus facilitating the transportation of tyres.

3. Specific drive sockets for lorry garages
As with those geared towards light vehicles, lorry workshops need to stock specific drive sockets to fit the hub of the vehicle’s rear or front axles, for example.
These sockets can be square or hexagonal, depending on the brand and model selected.
The KROFtools catalogue contains several lorry sockets with varying characteristics, including:
- BPW Rear axle/hub nut socket (Ref. 30001/30002/30003/30009/30010/30011/30012/30013/30014);

- Nut sockets for Man, Mercedes, and Daf (Ref.30020/30022);
- Nut sockets for Mercedes/Man grooved rear axle (Ref.30018/30023/30030/30031)
4. Diesel injector compression tester
This equipment, which is made up of a pressure gauge (0-1000psi), breather valve, hose, injector and incandescent glow plug adaptors, will enable you to measure the highest pressure of the compression stroke raised in the air cylinder of diesel engines.
